Heaven's Helping Hands
If you feel you are in need of any of these services don't hesitate to call. Any one of us may find ourselves in such need at one time or another. Your church has caring people who have volunteered to help out with these Heaven's Helping Hands ministries and they would have volunteered if they hadn't been moved to do so. They are looking forward to helping where they can. If you feel you are in need of any of these services, don't hesitate to call Messiah at 715-373-5378.
TransportationIf you are in need of transportation to church or an appointment (Doctor, Pharmacy, Dentist, etc.) or to a local event (grocery store, meeting, etc.) please call Don Swedberg at 715-373-2644 and he will have a volunteer driver contact you to make arrangements for the trip. If Don is not home, please leave a message and he will get back to you as soon as possible. Please call at least a day before your scheduled appointment or event if at all possible.
Member Visit MinistryIf you would welcome a visit from a fellow member of Messiah, please contact the church office and someone from Heaven's Helping Hands will contact you to arrange a time that is convenient.

Heaven's Helping Hands In the News
THANK YOU to the members of Messiah. Forty one tags were on the sharing tree this year. Nine children of four prisoners will know that their Dad or Mom cares about them and requested that we as part of the Angel Tree program provide a gift to their children on their behalf. There were also 26 gifts delivered to New Horizons North for 6 people that were selected by them as being in need this Christmas time. We also had items donated for residents of The Oaks and Northern Lights. THANK YOU for being the hands of Christ by participating and letting these families and individuals know that Messiah cares about them.
We want to share with you the members of Messiah the Thank yous we received from New Horizons North:
“I wanted to include you in the fun that I got to have yesterday when I dropped off a huge bag and mysteriously hefty box of wrapped gifts to the home of a single 30-year old women who you and your friends purchased gifts for. Your gifts arrived at a time when this person is facing a lot of financial stress, discouragement and anxiety about the future. She said she has never gotten so many gifts at one time and responded shyly at the outpouring of generosity. She decided to wait to open the gifts during a time that felt more “ceremonial” appropriate to the effort that obviously went into offering them. I know when I left that this person’s life situation is still difficult, but I know that she is also encouraged by feeling cared about and that the contents of the packages will make her life easier and continue to remind her that she is not facing challenges alone. This is such a busy time for everyone! Thank you for being so generous with your time and care to offer the Sharing Tree to the people we support! Wishing you all a heartwarming season with friends and family!”
“Thank you so much for organizing and sharing the spirit of the season with those less fortunate. The gifts were abundant, beautifully wrapped and seemed to resonate with the peace of Christmas and a light that shines with human kindness. The generosity and giving nature of your church community will truly bring warmth and smiles to these individuals on the most wonderful day of the year. Merry Merry to you and your team.”
Heaven’s Helping Hands sent a donation of $500 to Iglesia Evangelica Luterana Bethel Church in Dorad, Puerto Rico through Barb Swenson and her church in Minneapolis following the Hurricane disaster in November. We received this thank you to share with members of Messiah: “we want to thank you for your solidarity and your act of kindness towards our families in Waguays neighborhood of Dorad, Puerto Rico who lost everything because of Hurricane Maria. Thanks for contributing to our hope. God multiply it. In the love of Christ, Pastor Juette Saljado”
Heaven’s Helping Hands delivered thirteen food boxes (six donated by Saron/6th St Market) for Christmas. Eight were distributed to families by the Washburn Elementary School and five to other families in need. Our boxes included a ham, potatoes, baked beans, canned corn and green beans, milk, brown & serve rolls, olives, peanuts, Clementines, butter, chocolates, carrots, pie, cheese & crackers, and eggs.

A Poem by Ramona BranzellThey didn't even ask me -
Today will you be mine? They just took my answer for grantedand brought me a Valentine. There were homemade Holiday hearts, Messiah's H.H.H.'s were busy. There was corn to pop, bars to munch, candy kisses, also fruits and even a chocolate dipped strawberry. I enjoyed the yummy treat and appreciate other things you do. I repeat this over and over and over Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! |
Help the Brick Help OthersSummer is known to be a time of year when donations are often down at food banks just when kids are home from school and the need for food goes up. Please consider bringing a donation of non-perishable food to Messiah for ‘The Brick’, which serves families in need in the area. The collection basket is in the Narthex (the church entry). Your help is much appreciated
