Serving Groups - The Ministry of Hospitality

Messiah has three serving groups. For a lack of more creative names, they are called groups one, two and three. To view the serving group list click here. Names included the leadership of each working group and those who have volunteered to either work an actual event, or donate a dish for an event or who donate cash to help financially support one or more of the work groups. These groups are called upon for funerals, potlucks and other events. If you would like to be on a serving group we would love to have your help and support. Call the church office and let us know and we will put you in a group and let us know if you can physically help or if you would like to donate money or food. Thank You!

2016 Annual Report

The serving groups served eight funerals in 2016. Also they organized the grilled chicken dinner, the salad luncheon, and helped with the lutefisk dinner. There was a potluck dinner after last year’s annual meeting. A huge Thank You to everyone who enables our group leaders to organize and have very successful events.
Speaking of group leaders, we need a co-leader for Serving Group #2. Please prayerfully consider volunteering for this important role. We will give you all the training you need.
Every time we serve a funeral or a party (such as Vivian Swanson’s most recent 90th Birthday Party) we realize that this is a true ministry of hospitality. We see families able to relax, hug and visit without having to worry about getting the food ready or cleaning up. We receive so many words of thanks that we really want to keep this ministry going!
Those who do the planning, serving and cleaning are happy to do it. It is just that we need a few more helping hands.
