Worship Ministry
The worship ministry group plans and oversees the worship activities at Messiah Lutheran Church. The ministry is responsible for the worship resources including the Pastor’s leadership, the music leadership and the various function coordinators.
Current members of the ministry are:
Pastor Nancy Hanson
Choir Director Tom Yost
Organist Sue Grube
Gail Jenicek
We want to thank all of the volunteers who help make Messiah’s worship experiences more meaningful. A special thank you goes to choir director Tom Yost, organist Sue Grube, and the choir for their contributions each Sunday morning. The choir’s 22nd Winter Concert was a labor of love for the whole year preceding the event. So many thanks to Deanna and Tom Yost for the extra work it takes to create an evening complete with poets, choir, an Ariel Anthology poetry book III, and a fantastic food and wine reception!
Many thanks to the worship support groups (Altar Guild, Assistant Liturgists, Readers, Ushers, and Children Sermon Presenters) for their important contributions to the worship services. Without you, our worship would not be possible.
For Christmas Eve 3:00 p.m. worship we were blessed with another children’s message. This year Beverly Martinez, Kylee Guske, Joseph Leino, Patrick Guske, Delilah Streiter, Janasia Schwantes, Kaylee Schwantes, Sam Leino, Mitchell Martinez and Trinity Streiter acted out the Christmas story. The 11:00 p.m. worship service is highlighted with beautiful choir music. This year Hans Veenendaal and Dan Yule acted as Joseph and Angel Gabriel. Jack Gunderson blessed us with singing “Oh Holy Night”.
If you have a passion for planning worship, and are willing to meet quarterly and share ideas, please join this group. Call the church office to let us know you are interested.
