Stone Soup Ministry

Stone Soup has been an interesting and vibrant addition to Messiah's ministry.  Katherine Morrisseau coordinates this outreach program.  It meets every Thursday from 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.  Each week, 20 - 25 kids and a half a dozen parents come.  Under Katherine's supervision, kids and parents together prepare the meal - and learn some basic cooking skills along the way.  When asked, she did admit that paying the bill for this program strains her budget, and that she'd be open to donations and contributions.  The group always makes a big salad so anything green would be appreciated:  lettuce, peppers, celery, carrots, apples....  She uses a couple of dozen eggs each week.  And the group goes through a lot of ketchup and shredded cheese.  She does her weekly grocery shopping on Thursday mornings, so it would be best if donations were delivered to the kitchen by Wednesday afternoon.  If you have any questions, you can reach Katherine at [email protected].
